It’s 515 days and counting…
“Time is the great healer and healing takes time after all to err is human, to forgive is divine…”
My time in recovery threw me into turmoil and it now feels right to gain closure on the whole experience.
it’s not been easy – spiritual growth requires legitimate suffering. Peeling off the layers of the masks we wear is painful like layers of an onion sometimes tears are involved. (Ironic that I mistyped tears and years came out – this is true!)
We all seek a quick fix a sudden miraculous cure to be healed and bask in the reflected glory of being a success story.
This is ego operating, the lower self, fiercely protective and loyal. Self preservation is at stake and it has a job to do.It knows no better that the challenge from our higher self, whilst representing change is the healthier, worthwhile option.
Suffering continues when resistance to change persists. Change is constant and must be gratefully accepted in order to make this transition smooth.
Yet our ego fears attack and dutifully defends itself.
The ebb and flow that ensues is the basis for recovery – a committed daily moment by moment philosophy or way of life answering that call deep inside that something is wrong and there is a better way to live where we all may be healthy and happy.
The rewards are priceless, the potential growth exponential beyond our wildest dreams.
As this virtuous circle grows wider, everyday in every way it gets better and better and our suffering is transformed into compassion for all things.
