If your anything like me, you probably have memories of jumping rope/skipping in the playground at school. Skipping may be be one of the most effective cardio tools available. It burns more calories per minute than many other exercises. Its a great exercise for the heart and strengthens the upper and lower body. To make sure the rope is right for your height, step on the middle and the handles should reach just under your armpits. Start off slowly, practicing your co-ordination, then once you get the hang of it, try doing 60 sec sprints. It can be a fun way to exercise.
If your looking to tone up certain muscles, this is one exercise that really works. They are easy to perform and require no equipment. Squats not only strengthen and tone your glutes and leg muscles but if done correctly can create an overall workout. Squats will help you maintain mobility, balance and flexibility. Doing this form of exercise along with the correct stretching techniques can prevent injury.

Although not for everybody, running is immensely beneficial. Its an exercise you have to ease into, depending on your level of fitness. If you want to get into shape quickly, running is the answer. Its a great way to de-stress and clear your mind, it can even be meditative.
